Westwood Neighborhood Projects

PROJECT OVERVIEW

Westwood Neighborhood Projects consists of several phased projects that will improve the neighborhood's streets and safety. Two projects have been completed as part of this effort. The first project consisted of street improvements along Kilburn Ave., and Bryan Ave., and the second project consisted of improvements on Bancroft and Bremen Courts. The next projects will include street improvements on Laurel St., Westwood Ave., Homewood Ave., Dewitt Ave., Chelsea Ave., and remaining "interior streets" within this neighborhood area.

October 2022 - City Staff along with Dokken Engineering presented to the community design alternatives and negative outcomes of one-way streets for the Westwood interior streets project.

September 2022 - City will have an Interior Streets Open House on October 13th at 5:30. View the flyer for additional information.

May 2022 - City Staff along with Dokken Engineering presented three design alternatives and street cross sections for Laurel Street to the community. View vicinity map, cross section alternatives, alternative 1 with class III bike route, alternative 2 with class II bike lane, and alternative 3 with class II bike lane.

March 2022 - City Staff along with Dokken Engineering will be starting preliminary engineering on Laurel Street and will send future public engagement opportunities for the remaining "interior streets" within the neighborhood area. 

January 2022 - City has obtained the services of Dokken Engineering to assist in completing the Westwood Neighborhood Project.
