Camps
Camp Napa
June 26 - August 4, 2023, Ages 5-9
Camp Napa is here to give your kids the break they've been waiting for! With modifications to ensure we are offering the safest space (Las Flores Community Center and Turf) while still having loads of fun, our superstar staff will make sure your campers have the best time at Camp Napa. Activities will include theme days, fun games and songs about healthy habits, art and craft projects and games focusing on our natural resources, hot day water play and so much more!
Great Outdoors
June 26 - August 4, 2023, Ages 7-12
Great Outdoors camp provides a wonderful opportunity for campers to spend time in all that the John F. Kennedy Park provides. They will learn about native plants, go on nature hikes, build forts, make new friends play games, archery and make various arts and crafts!
Enrichment Camps
Parks and Recreation partners with community providers to offer programs in art, music, science, engineering, drama, and other creative camp opportunities.
Leader in Training (LIT)
Ages 13 - 15
The LIT Program has been designed to give your child a well-rounded experience so that they have a clear understanding of the Parks and Recreation Summer Camp Programs and what it means to be a great leader. During Session 1 they will spend time in the classroom getting to know each other, learning about the camps, and talking about leadership, accountability, roles and responsibilities, safety, and customer service. LITs will also get to experience one week at each camp to get the full camp experience. Both Camp Napa and Great Outdoors have moved locations since this program was last offered and we feel it’s important for you child to see and experience both camps. Session 2 will continue to build on the concepts and skills introduced in Session 1 while spending more time in camp getting hands-on experience. While at camp you’ll play games, sing songs, create arts and crafts, and practice the skills you are learning along the way. Skills will be taught through training, workshops, and practice.
Download the LIT application here. Once the application is completed and signed by a parent/guardian, please submit it to [email protected] for review no later than June 8, 2023. If selected, your child will be contacted and invited to an in-person interview. This application, interview process and parent/guardian orientation is required and must be completed before registration can happen. Interviews will be held on June 10th from 9am-3pm (there are no other days). Parent/guardian orientation with the Leader in Training participant will be on June 16th.
