A Little Bit About Our Neighborhood
The Shurtleff Neighborhood is bounded on the west by Silverado Trail, on the south by Imola Avenue, on the east by the City of Napa limit line, and on the north by Tulocay Creek. It is almost entirely residential with a little bit of commercial on the southern edge. The neighborhood has planned communities, apartment complexes, and single family residential homes. It borders the Napa State Hospital on the south side across Imola Avenue. The Napa State Asylum for the Insane, now called Napa State Hospital, located just south of Napa, received its first patients in 1876. Shurtleff Neighborhood has Phillips Charter Elementary School within the neighborhood, as well as, Camille and Shurtleff Parks.
