2022 ELECTION INFORMATION
The November 8, 2022 Ballot will include the following:
- Election of two Councilmembers, from Districts 1 and 3, for four-year terms

The Candidates
As of the close of the nomination period on Friday, August 12, 2022, there is only one candidate for each of the offices to be elected: one Councilmember from District 1, and one Councilmember from District 3.
The persons so nominated are:
Liz Alessio, District 1, Four-year Term - Candidate Statement (English & Spanish)
Mary Luros, District 3, Four-year Term - Candidate Statement (English & Spanish)
At the August 23, 2022 Special meeting, City Council voted to direct City staff to take all actions necessary to implement the November 8, 2022 General Municipal Election as scheduled for City Councilmember District 1 and District 3, as previously authorized by Resolution R2022-046.
City Council District Based Election for 2022
Effective June 5, 2020, City of Napa City Municipal Code 1.10.010 established district based elections for four Councilmembers. Municipal Code 1.10.020 (B) established the sequence of elections with Council Districts 1 and 3 for election in November 2022.
On March 8, 2022 the City of Napa City Council completed the redistricting process and adopted Ordinance O2022-005, re-adopting the district map that was originally established when the City moved to district elections in 2020.

Nomination Period - July 18, 2022 to August 12, 2022 ** CLOSED**
eligible candidate during regular business hours. Individuals are considered “official” candidates upon the submission and qualification of Nomination Papers.
The nomination period for candidates opens at 8:00 a.m. on July 18, 2022 and closes at 5:00 p.m. on August 12, 2022. If an incumbent fails to submit nomination papers by this deadline, non-incumbent candidates will have until 5:00 p.m. on August 17, 2022 to file nomination papers.
