[ARCHIVED] Honoring Alaina Housley

Lit Candle

Last week, our community lost one of our own.

Alaina Housley, 18, was one of the victims of the senseless shooting at Borderline Bar and Grill in Thousand Oaks. A Vintage High graduate, and current Pepperdine University freshman, Alaina had so much promise before her.

As Alaina’s memory is honored today, we, the City of Napa, would like to offer our condolences to her family, her friends, and anyone else whose life was touched by Alaina. All who knew her loved her as she clearly brought joy to so many. We hope for strength and healing, and know that this community will wrap their arms around the Housley family.

We also offer our condolences to the families and friends of the other 11 victims of the Thousand Oaks shooting and keep them all in our thoughts.

If you or someone you know needs help coping with the tremendous grief associated with this tragic event, you can visit for more information and resources or call 707-479-5812. Napa’s Chaplaincy program is one of many in the area that can help. Tulocay Cemetery also offers resources on their website at
