Update on Business and Workplace Reopening from Napa County This week, the Napa County Board of Supervisors approved the submission of the “COVID-19 Attestation Variance Report” to the California Department of Public Health. The report, prepared by the Napa County Public Health Officer highlights the County’s low rates of Covid-19 cases and high levels of preparedness. If the California Department of Public Health accepts the attestation, Napa County will be able to reopen some businesses and workplaces if they make required modifications to lower the risk of transmission. County officials will communicate next steps and/or future actions, based on the State’s action regarding the Attestation Report.

Bay-Friendly Garden Tour Goes VirtualA decade-long Napa Valley tradition continues this year as the Bay-Friendly Garden Tour transitions into a full Garden Month! Throughout the month of May, please join the Napa County Resource Conservation District (RCD) and City of Napa Water as they present a suite of online events and resources that will inspire local residents to adopt water-saving, sustainable landscaping practices in their own front and back yards. From the hub at NapaRCD.org/2020GardenMonth you will access live, exclusive videos featuring fabulous local gardeners showing off their sites. Additional live workshops with professional landscape designers will allow for in-depth exploration of gardening topics. Other recorded videos and web links will impart Bay-Friendly tips and show off helpful local resources. After the first week’s focus on soil, mulch, and compost, a diverse series of events will cover native plants, pollinator habitat, organic edible gardens, water-wise garden design, plant selection, irrigation, and pest management. Additional surprises will be added throughout the month, and all videos will be preserved for later viewing. Several garden visits will be Facebook Live events. Workshops will be presented via Zoom, with registration available at the Bay-Friendly Garden Month home page: https://naparcd.org/2020gardenmonth/ So, in lieu of the traditional in-person one-day tour, enjoy some online inspiration during the entire month of May, Bay-Friendly Garden Month! Sponsors and helpers for these virtual online events include the City of Napa, Napa County RCD, Town of Yountville, UC Master Gardeners of Napa County, and CNPS Napa Valley Chapter. They are inspired by Bay-Friendly Landscaping & Gardening, a program of ReScape California (rescapeca.org), a non-profit organization that advocates for a sustainable approach to landscaping that works in harmony with the natural environment. General Plan Survey
The General Plan Update process is at an exciting stage! Based on input from the first stage of community outreach, preliminary ideas and concepts are being developed to get the community’s input before preparation of a final Preferred Plan, which will then form the basis for detailed General Plan policies.
Your feedback in this survey will help craft a General Plan that builds upon the livability in Napa, ensuring that the community reflects the vision of being inclusive, family-friendly, balanced, sustainable, and flexible to adapt to changing future circumstances. Additional community-wide outreach events will continue help shape the Preferred Plan Concept.
