National Day of Mourning and LamentMoment of Silence - Monday, June 1, 2020 On Monday, June 1, the City of Napa, along with cities and towns across the nation, will observe a Day of Mourning and Lament for the lives lost during the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 100,000 people have died in the United States as a result of COVID-19. The mental health of countless others has been impacted by the stress of unemployment, isolation, and working on the front lines of the pandemic.
On Monday, we ask all our residents to pause for a moment of silence at noon.
Mayor Jill Techel says, “In these important moments, we will connect together as a nation and we will honor those that we have lost. We must also remember to love and support each other. Today and always, we are all in this together!”

New City of Napa Outdoor Dining EffortsThe City of Napa and partners have identified expanding outdoor dining into public and private spaces as a key initiative to support our community following COVID-19 temporary stay at home orders and physical distancing protocols. Napa has entered into the “Expanded Phase 2” of the State’s Reopening Plan, which allows for dine-in restaurant service indoors and outdoors. The potential to expand the size and capacity of outdoor dining areas has been a well-received and welcomed idea.
We have created a webpage that is intended to assist our customers in understanding the new Outdoor Dining Permit process that City staff is piloting in an effort to be highly responsive to outdoor dining proposals by streamlining the review process. We welcome feedback on the program, and the materials included on this web page, and anticipate modifying and adding information to this page in response to customer feedback.

General Plan Survey*Deadline Extended!*
The General Plan Update process is at an exciting stage! Based on input from the first stage of community outreach, preliminary ideas and concepts are being developed to get the community’s input before preparation of a final Preferred Plan, which will then form the basis for detailed General Plan policies.
Your feedback in this survey will help craft a General Plan that builds upon the livability in Napa, ensuring that the community reflects the vision of being inclusive, family-friendly, balanced, sustainable, and flexible to adapt to changing future circumstances. Additional community-wide outreach events will continue help shape the Preferred Plan Concept.

NapaSan's Browns Valley Trunk Project Has BegunThe Browns Valley Trunk Sewer Project has begun, and you may see crews working in multiple areas around the City. Pre-construction work to mark and locate underground utilities is underway in some areas and will continue through the month of June. Pipeline construction will begin in June with work on South Coombs Street at Imola Avenue. Work will continue northbound from Imola Avenue on South Coombs Street through the month of June and July. Concurrently, crews will also be working east and west of Highway 29 on Old Sonoma Road. NapaSan will be sending notifications to residents prior to pipeline construction taking place in front of their property. What is the Browns Valley Trunk Sewer Project? Wastewater from the Browns Valley area and Southwest Napa currently flows through over-capacity sewer pipelines to the West Napa Pump Station on its way to the treatment plant. The Browns Valley Trunk Project is designed to intercept this wastewater and divert the flow away from sewer lines that are over capacity via a new pipeline that will deliver the wastewater to NapaSan for treatment. Additional project information can be found at www.napasan.com/bvproject. At this link, you can also sign up for email updates about the project. If you have further questions concerning the project, please call the project hotline at (707) 540-9964.
