Camp Napa School's Out Pop-Ups

9 AM - 4 PM
Camp Napa is here to give your kids a chance to get out and about and take a little break from the computer screen during non-school days! With modifications to ensure we are offering the safest space while still having loads of fun, our superstar staff will make sure your campers have the best time at Camp Napa.Camp Dates: October 9, November 11, November 23-25, December 21-23, December 28-30, January 1-4. Napa Art Walk

Looking for a new outdoor activity? Check out the Napa Art Walk! This City-sponsored program aims to enhance Napa's quality of life by publicly exhibiting original, high-quality, sculpture from artists in the region. Disc Golf at Century Oaks Park

Disc Golf is played like traditional golf, but with discs (commonly known as Frisbees). One throw is counted each time the disc is thrown. The goal is to play each hole in the fewest throws possible. The player with the lowest total wins. Please bring your own equipment. Masks and social distancing rules must be followed. Play limited to groups of 4 or less.

Ranger Programs

Dates and locations vary throughout the fall season.
Our Rangers will help you explore our city parks, learn about park history, local plants and the wildlife that the parks home. Programs focus on how to protect the ecosystem and wildlife habitat today and in the future.

Popsicle Parade

Thursday, September 3rd 2-4 PM

Join us for a socially distanced Popsicle parade at the Las Flores Community Center! Drive through the Las Flores parking lot to receive a Popsicle and word game. One Popsicle per person. Limited to the first 300 people.

Online Speaker Series

This series presents city and community leaders speaking on a on a variety of topics and issues that will inspire and inform. Our first guest, on Wednesday, September 9th 2-4 PM, is Clinical Psychologist Dr. Cherise Northcutt who will discuss the effects of prolonged stress and provide strategies for managing it in the long term. Other guests include Mayor Jill Techel- 9/11, Fire Chief Steve Brassfield 10/1 and Police Chief Robert Plummer 11/13.

National Cleanup Day

Wednesday, September 16, Sunrise to Sunset
Head out to your favorite park or trail today with the intent to pick up any litter you come across. Please bring your own bag and gloves. Snap a photo and share it with us on social media @napaparksandrec on both Facebook and Instagram!

Bike Your Park Day

Saturday, September 26th
O’Brien Park 10 AM – 2 PM
Century Oaks Park 11:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Ditch your car, grab your bike and ride down to Century Oaks or O’Brien Parks. While there stop by the booth to learn more about the Napa County Bike Coalition and Napa Parks & Recreation Services programs and get some swag! Please wear you mask at the booth.

Coffee & Donut Drive-Thru

Tuesday, September 29th 9-11 AM
Stop by the Napa Senior Center to receive a free cup of coffee and donut on National Coffee Day! Get out of the house and stop by to say hi from your car. Coffee and treats are limited to the first 100 people.

Basketball Free Throw Contest

Saturday October 24th 10 AM – 2:00 PM
Practice your free throws at one of our many parks sport courts and on October 24th we will see who the best free throw shooter is in Napa! A time and park location will be assigned to you. Registration starts October 1st by age groups 8-12, 13-18, and 18+ Bring your own ball. Register HERE

World Teacher Day

Monday, October 5 – All day
Share your story of a teacher that inspired you and we’ll post it on our social media. Please send the following information by September 30th to [email protected]. The name of the teacher you are thanking/recognizing. The grade and school where they teach. A short (50 words or less) thank you or explanation of why you'd like to recognize this particular teacher.

Drive-Thru Taco Tuesday Day

Tuesday, October 6th, 11:30 AM -1 PM
Come by the Senior Center for a Taco Tuesday lunch! A pre-plated to go lunch will be provided through your car window to take home and enjoy. Limited to one plate per person in attendance for the first 75 people (Ages 50+).

Virtual Halloween Pumpkin Contest

October 17-29th

1. Carve your pumpkin at home
2. Send a photo of the pumpkin with your name, age and email/phone to [email protected].
3. Our judges will select a winner from four categories: ages 5-8, ages 9-12; ages 13-18, and ages 18+. Prizes will be provided for the winners and a slideshow of all of the entries will be showcased on social media on Halloween Day!

Pumpkin Succulent Craft Event

Halloween House Decorating Contest

October 17-29th
Why wait until Christmas? Let’s decorate our houses during Halloween for community members to drive around and enjoy. Submit a photo and home address. A map of spooky locations on will be posted October 30th to check out over the Halloween weekend. Please send entries to [email protected].

Drive-Thru Trick or Treat

Saturday, October 31st 1-3 PM
Instead of trick or treating in your neighborhood, get dressed in your costumes, jump in your car and visit our drive-thru stations located at Las Flores Community Center, Senior Center, Napa Police and Fire Departments, and other locations to be determined to receive some trick-or-treat goodies. COVID-friendly protocols will be adhered to ensure items are safely provided through car windows.

National Family PJ Day

Do you need a reason to spend the day in your PJs? Well, you are in luck because it’s National Family PJ Day!! Post a photo of your family lounging around in pj attire and share with us at @napaparksandrec on both Facebook and Instagram!

City of Napa Truck Parade

Tuesday, November 24th 10 AM
The parade is coming to you! Fire trucks, Police cars, Public Works trucks, and more will be parading through the city’s neighborhoods for families to enjoy. You will get to see all the exciting things we do as a City! More details and parade route will be coming soon!

Green Friday

Friday, November 27th
Black Friday not your thing? Parks Docent, John Futini, will lead a walking tour at Alston and Trancas Crossing Parks. Information on history of the land, and highlights of the local flora and fauna will be topics of discussion. Dress in weather appropriate outdoor gear, bring your mask, water and footwear that is comfortable for a moderate amount of walking. Limited to 10 people per hike. Please register HERE.

Virtual Ugly Sweater Contest

Submissions December 16 - December 18

This contest will consist of 5 categories. Most adorable, most colorful, beautifully tacky, most sparkle and most festive. Send your photos to [email protected] and tell us the category you are entering between December 16 - December 18, by 3 PM. Winners will be announced December 20th and receive a Parks and Recreation
holiday themed goodie bag!

Youth Scholarships

The Parks & Rec team and the Napa Parks & Recreation Foundation have joined forces again to offer youth recreation scholarships for Fall programs. With these challenging economic times due to COVID-19, this program makes special considerations for families who may have been negatively affected. Kestrel Open House and Cruises

Main Street Boat Dock

Saturday, September 5th
Tideline Marine Group presents free river cruises on the new Kestrel boat. Cruises are approximately 30 minutes departing at 1:30, 2:30 & 3:30 PM. Please RSVP to [email protected] to secure your ride!
Donations on behalf of the CANV Food Bank will be accepted in lieu of ticket purchases. Short term mooring for private vessels and non-motorized craft launch is available at the dock. You can also book an adventure with one of our awesome vendors!

Golf

Napa Golf Course
An 18-hole full service championship daily fee golf course with practice facilities consisting of an 8,500 square foot putting green, modest chipping green, and 22 individual stall driving range outfitted with synthetic mats. The pro-shop has a full complement of merchandise from golf balls to clubs. The clubhouse is currently offering food and beverage service on the patio. Year round youth and adult lessons, for players of all skill, are available from our on-staff PGA Class A Professionals. With four sets of tees to accommodate golfers of any skill level, user friendly, fun, and provides affordable access to all.

Air Quality

We have adopted the following guidelines for recreational programs during times of poor air quality. The policy is based on Air Quality Index (AQI) levels as established by the Bay Area Quality Management District. When considered unhealthy for the sensitive groups zone or orange (101 to 150) or above, outside activities and programs will be suspended. Indoor activities and programs will be suspended when air quality gets into the red zone (151 to 200) or above.
