Drug Take Back Day Returns to Napa County on Saturday, October 24, 2020 On Saturday, Oct. 24 from 10 AM to 2 PM, several locations around Napa County will host Drug Take Back Day - a collection event for unused medication and sharps (used syringes and needles).
Bring your unused or expired over-the-counter and prescription medications to any of the six collections locations in Napa County. These locations can also accept "controlled" substances that include highly addictive prescription medications, such as morphine and OxyContin, as well as illegal narcotics. You can also bring home generated medical sharps (needles, syringes, epinephrine auto-injectors, etc.) as state law prohibits the disposal of sharps in trash or recycling containers.
For more information about this free and anonymous event, visit the City of Napa's website for more info.
Can't make Drug Take Back Day? You can dispose of unwanted pharmaceuticals and home generated sharps year-round at the Napa-Vallejo Household Hazardous Waste Collection Facility at 889A Devlin Rd. in American Canyon. Visit NapaRecycling.com/Medicine for more information.

Fall Means Leaves! And lots of them.It is officially autumn in Napa! As the leaves begin to change colors and fall, here are some reminders about sweeping and disposing of leaves in your yard:
- Leaves and yard trimmings should be placed directly into brown compost carts - Do not sweep or blow leaves or yard trimmings into the street or gutter - Street sweeping is increased from October through January to twice a month but please note that street sweepers are not effective at collecting sticks, branches or large piles of leaves - Residential households can obtain up to two recycling and two compost carts, free of charge
