Napa County Now Subject to Regional Stay Home OrderAs of December 17, 2020 at 11:59PM, Napa County is subject to the Regional Stay Home Order issued by the State of California, which takes place when there is less than 15% capacity in Intensive Care Units (ICU) in the region. The order will remain in effect for at least three weeks, and until the region’s ICU capacity projected out four weeks is equal or greater than 15%. To check the daily ICU capacity by region, please view the ICU Capacity information on the State's COVID-19 website. About the Regional Stay Home Order The Regional Stay Home Order instructs Californians to stay at home as much as possible and to stop mixing between households that can lead to the spread of COVID-19. The order allows access to critical services and outdoor activities to preserve Californians’ physical and mental health. The Regional Stay Home Order will help limit exposure, interrupt transmission, and prevent overwhelming regional ICU capacity. This order prohibits private gatherings of any size, closes certain business sectors except for critical infrastructure and retail, and requires 100% masking and physical distancing in all sectors. For more sector-specific details, please view the Regional Stay at Home Orders on the State's COVID-19 website. Frequently Asked Questions Business Operations Questions can be emailed to [email protected] or the public can call (707) 253-4540. Napa County’s call center is staffed Monday-Friday from 8am to 8pm.

Adapted Work Environment (AWE) Success: Virtual Composting Workshops
Adapted Work Environment (AWE) Success: After 16 years of hosting Compost Workshops, the City of Napa's Solid Waste and Recycling Division did not want to stop hosting workshops when the pandemic started shutting down offices and businesses. Despite every Master Gardener knowing it would be much more work going digital, the City, the County and the UC Master Gardeners organized two digital workshops for residents - one for backyard composting and one for worm composting.
Attendees heard from the presenters, asked questions during a Q&A and were able to pick up their worm bin later or purchase a subsidized backyard composter. In total, 50 people attended our first ever digital Composting Workshops!
