Stay Home, Save Lives.During this alarming rise in COVID-19 cases and related hospitalizations, why are gatherings so strongly discouraged?
Quite simply, gatherings are a MAJOR contributor to the spread of this very contagious virus. We must reduce the spread to protect the long-term health of our community.
Our health care system is stretched extremely thin, and our health care workers are nearing their breaking point. The diminishing ICU capacity does not just affect COVID-19 patients; it affects any patient in need of critical care for a heart attack, stroke, life-threatening injuries from a car accident, or any number of other severe health issues that require emergency intensive care.
The sooner we can slow this surge in cases and hospitalizations, the sooner we can start working toward reopening our local small businesses, while reducing the risk of future stay at home orders.
Please – avoid gatherings with those outside of your household. And be mindful of the 3 W’s: WASH your hands, WATCH your distance, and WEAR a face covering.
Together, we can slow the spread and stop the surge, Napa!

Napa County Now Subject to Regional Stay Home OrderAs of December 17, 2020 at 11:59PM, Napa County is subject to the Regional Stay Home Order issued by the State of California, which takes place when there is less than 15% capacity in Intensive Care Units (ICU) in the region. The order will remain in effect for at least three weeks, and until the region’s ICU capacity projected out four weeks is equal or greater than 15%. To check the daily ICU capacity by region, please view the ICU Capacity information on the State's COVID-19 website. About the Regional Stay Home Order The Regional Stay Home Order instructs Californians to stay at home as much as possible and to stop mixing between households that can lead to the spread of COVID-19. The order allows access to critical services and outdoor activities to preserve Californians’ physical and mental health. The Regional Stay Home Order will help limit exposure, interrupt transmission, and prevent overwhelming regional ICU capacity. This order prohibits private gatherings of any size, closes certain business sectors except for critical infrastructure and retail, and requires 100% masking and physical distancing in all sectors. For more sector-specific details, please view the Regional Stay at Home Orders on the State's COVID-19 website. Frequently Asked Questions Business Operations Questions can be emailed to [email protected] or the public can call (707) 253-4540. Napa County’s call center is staffed Monday-Friday from 8am to 8pm.

Adapted Work Environment (AWE) Success: Public Works Department
Since having to move much of their work virtual when the stay-at-home orders took effect, the Public Works team had to figure out how to remain communicative with each other from afar. The department began hosting bi-weekly, all hands meetings (even if staff was at job sites) to hear project updates, safety reminders, COVID briefings, appreciations and ask questions.
"Staying communicative and engaged with every member of the Public Works Department - no matter where they were working - has been instrumental to not missing a beat," said Julie Lucido, Public Works Director. "Our work is essential to making sure residents can continue driving on City roads, drinking City water and continuing to live their lives, despite the pandemic."
These meetings have helped the entire Public Works department stay connected, engaged and allowed them to continue providing essential services to Napa residents.
