February is Black History Month

This week, we marked the beginning of Black History Month. When it first began, Black History Month was created to pursue restorative history and combat the erasure of Black people from global history. Now, we can be intentional about remembering the contributions of Black activists, history-makers and leaders and celebrate how far we've come during the month of February, and every month.

We should always be inclusive to all people in the United States and celebrate the achievements of Black people throughout history. The National Museum of American History is presenting a variety of programs in February in honor of Black History Month to share valuable resources and offer a space to learn and grow. Napa Al Fresco

Outdoor Dining - Stay Safe While Supporting Our Local Businesses

Outdoor dining is open again! Although it's a little chilly outside, consider dining outside or ordering take-out/delivery from a local Napa business tonight.

The City's Napa Al Fresco program has helped local businesses take advantage of their parklets or shared parking spaces to optimize their outdoor dining options. The City has also worked with businesses to set up pick-up priority zones for those doing take out or delivery.

Do your part to support these local businesses by wearing your masks, keeping a 6-foot distance from others and only dining with those in your household.

Stay Home for Superbowl

It is almost time for the Superbowl!

Though it may be tempting to watch the big game from a friend or family member's house, please keep in mind that COVID-19 cases are still prominent in Napa County. We must continue to take the necessary safety precautions to keep our community safe. The safest and best way to celebrate your football-filled Sunday is to stay home host your own Superbowl party with the members of your household.

Red Cross Preparedness

Preparing for a Disaster

Are you ready?

California's constantly-changing weather continues to prove how necessary it is to be prepared for an emergency at any time. With some basic planning, preparing you and your family for a disaster is easy.

One necessary preparation is creating, stocking (or updating) your survival kit. This kit will allow you to be self-sufficient if an emergency were to occur. Check out the American Red Cross' suggestions for what to put in your survival kit: https://www.redcross.org/get-help/how-to-prepare-for-emergencies/survival-kit-supplies.html.
