Napa Fire Reminds Us to Continue to be Vigilant for Our Health & Safety
|
|
|
|
|
With many in our community beginning to receive their vaccinations, we ask that you all continue to be vigilant when it comes to your health and safety. Our firefighters and paramedics at Napa Fire Department are always here and always ready to serve you. We will continue taking all precautions when responding to calls for service. We ask that you keep yourself safe and limit exposure and if possible, when you call 911, to meet our responders outside of your residence. It keeps your family members safe by limiting exposure inside your homes, as well as keeps our crews safe.
Together we can get through this as a team.

Napa County to Transition to the State's MyTurn Vaccine Registration ToolNapa County will be transitioning from the County’s vaccine interest registration form to the State’s MyTurn vaccine registration tool.
Anyone who lives or works in Napa County who is age 75 or older who has not already signed up on the County’s form is asked to sign up on the County form before 5:00 pm Friday, February 12, 2021. The County’s form can be found here: https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/501be721c77f4d44b00d9c3811637811
Those who do not have a computer or need assistance in registering can call (707) 253-4540 M-F 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. As appointments for the age 75+ group become available based on vaccine availability, those registered will receive a clinic invitation email from Napa County staff (senders may include [email protected], [email protected] or [email protected]) inviting you to register for an appointment on the California COVID-19 Enrollment Portal CalVax. Once you receive the email invitation, we ask that you book your appointment quickly so we can plan our clinics accurately. If you signed up without an email, you will receive a call from the County’s call center to assist in scheduling your appointment. For those under age 75 who have already registered on the County’s form, we will continue to pull from it to schedule appointments as vaccine doses become available until the transition to MyTurn is complete. We anticipate this date to be on or around March 1, 2021. For those under age 75 who have not yet registered, please register on the State’s MyTurn tool at https://myturn.ca.gov/

City Clerk announces Board and Committee openings Want to make a difference in your community? Do you have expertise you could share? The City Clerk is accepting applications from Napa Residents for a total of two openings; one to serve on the Napa Valley Transportation Active Transportation Advisory Committee; and one to serve on the Napa County Mosquito Abatement District Board. Please submit application by 5:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2021.
Applications are available online for submission – visit www.cityofnapa.org/BoardsandCommissions (https://www.cityofnapa.org/268/Boards-Commissions) for more information about the opening and the guidelines and requirements.
The Napa Valley Transportation Authority (NVTA) Active Transportation Advisory Committee (ATAC) is an Advisory Committee that is responsible to promote and encourage safe bicycling and walking to further Napa’s goal of becoming a bicycle- and pedestrian-friendly city. The Committee consists of eleven members: four members representing the City of Napa; two members represent the County of Napa; two members represent the City of American Canyon; and the Town of Yountville, City of St. Helena, and City of Calistoga each have one member to represent their respective jurisdictions. The Committee meets every other month on the 4th Monday at 5:30 p.m., currently via Zoom.
The Napa County Mosquito Abatement District Board is the Governing Body of the Mosquito Abatement District which provides mosquito/vector control services for the County of Napa. The Board consists of six members: one of whom represents the City of Napa. The City Council of the City of Napa appoints one member to the Board of Trustees to serve as the City’s representative. All other members represent the other governmental jurisdictions in the County of Napa in addition to one member representing the County at-large. The City of Napa representative to the Napa County Mosquito Abatement District Board must be a resident of the City of Napa. Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.
The City of Napa recruits throughout the year for interested residents to serve on a variety of boards and commissions that examine issues of community concern. Volunteers appointed to serve on a board or commission help City Council and city departments examine issues and, in turn, shape the future of Napa. Board and Commission members are appointed by the City Council and terms vary but are typically either two or three years. Most board members must be city residents and registered voters.
To find out more about the different commissions, committees and boards and to apply online, visit https://www.cityofnapa.org/268/Boards-Commissions. For more information contact Tiffany Carranza, City Clerk, at (707) 257-9503.
