Health Experts Now Recommend Two Masks - Here's How to Wear ThemHealth experts are now recommending wearing two masks when out or around others to prevent getting and spreading COVID-19. Masks work best when everyone wears them but not all masks provide the same protection.
When wearing two masks, there are two safe ways to layer: - Use a cloth mask that has multiple layers of fabric - Wear a disposable mask underneath a cloth mask (do NOT layer two disposable masks)
Always make sure the masks fit snugly against your face but that you can see and breathe easily.
For more information about how your mask protects you, visit the CDC's page here.

Napa Recycles TONS More Than Years PastDespite the many challenges that 2020 brought, the City's Utilities Department was able to stay busy. They reported an incredible increase in the number of tons recycled under our Construction and Demolition Debris Recycling ordinance. In 2020, ongoing projects recycled more than 7,100 tons of materials -- a significant difference from the 2,559 tons of materials recycled in 2019.
Both years, the Solid Waste and Recycling Division achieved a recycling rate of more than 65% for recycling project debris in 2020, well over the 50% minimum requirement from the State. Maximizing the recovery of heavy metals from construction projects is essential for the City to exceed its goal of diverting 75% of materials from ending up at a landfill.

Stay Safe While Staying Warm Although it is officially Spring, it still gets a bit chilly when the sun goes down. If you're using a portable heater in your home, make sure you don't accidentally start a house fire. Remember:
- Do not leave a heater unattended; turn it off when you leave the room or are going to sleep - Keep heaters three feet from anything that can burn, such as papers, clothing or rugs - Plug space heaters directly into a wall outlet -- not an extension cord or power strip - Place heaters on level, flat surfaces
For more portable heater safety tips, visit https://www.esfi.org/resource/space-heater-safety-tips-146.
