Halloween is this weekend! In anticipation of the sweetest and spookiest night of the year, remember to exercise caution in your Halloween festivities of choice.

• Trick-or-Treaters should always be with a buddy, use traffic signals and crosswalks, and double-check candy before consumption
• Drivers should drive and exit driveways slowly and cautiously around trick-or-treaters

Downtown Napa Hosts a Hometown Halloween

In anticipation of the spookiest holiday of the year, Downtown Napa is hosting a fun and family-oriented Hometown Halloween event on October 30. 

From 11 AM to 1 PM, trick-or-treating will be available at over 100 businesses downtown!

Be Prepared for Wet Winter Weather

Are you prepared for winter? If you live in a flood prone area, take measures to protect your home and your valuables:

• Store valuables and important documents in a water-safe area and take photos for insurance inventory
• Consider sealing the walls of your basement and raising utilities above base flood elevation
• Get flood insurance and stay connected to make sure new items are covered

Visit FloodSmart.gov, Ready.gov, and FEMA.gov for additional information and resources on how to prepare for floods this winter season.

Road Work Update! 

Over the next 5 weeks Soscol between Lincoln and Trancas will be heavily impacted by construction.

Below is a list of tentative activities:

• 10/18 - 10/27: Old Soscol to Pear Tree (new median island installation)
  
  
• 10/28 – 11/5: Central to Old Soscol (paving and cold in place recycling work)
  
  
• 11/8 – 11/12: Old Soscol to Pear Tree (paving)
  
  
• 11/15 – 11/19: Signal at Old Soscol may be installed

Roundabout Public Art Project RFQ NOW OPEN!

The City of Napa is pleased to announce that the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the Roundabout Public Art Project opened on Monday, October 11th, 2021 with a projected submission deadline of Friday, November 12th, 2021. The RFQ will seek qualifications from experienced public artists (or artist teams) who specialize in site specific sculpture for gateway artwork located at the southeast corner of 1st street (not in the center of the roundabout).

In the costume exchange, the City will re-distribute donated Halloween costumes at pre-Halloween events and next Halloween.

Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program and Tenant Accessibility ADA Grants 

The City of Napa's Housing Division is working to help improve rental units with two different grant and loan programs!

• Landlords, take advantage of the Rental Housing Rehabilitation Loan program's no interest 20-year loan to refurbish rental housing units
• Tenants, make your units ADA accessible with a grant of up to $5,000
