Happy Lunar New Year, Napa! We wish our community health and prosperity in the new year!
Stop by China Point Overlook and commemorate the history of Chinese immigrants in Napa.
China Point Overlook, and its iconic Moon Gate, serves both as a tribute to Napa’s long-vanished Chinatown and as a gateway to the urban greenway that connects the Oxbow District with downtown Napa.
Did you know Napa's earliest Chinese immigrants settled during the mid-19th century? They helped build our railroads, dig our first wine caves and cultivated our agricultural heritage. Our community is fortunate to have such a rich history and ties to Chinese culture.
We hope everyone has a great Year of the Tiger!

Avoid the Spark!Be battery safety smart.MISPLACED BATTERIES HAVE STARTED FIRES in our trucks and at our facilities multiple times in the past few years. Luckily they were put out quickly, but lithium ion batteries – The ones in phones, tablets, laptops, drills, drones and vape pens – are very susceptible to starting fires when they are punctured or crushed and have caused serious fires at recycling facilities in recent years.
Batteries can be dropped off at many sites around town – visit naparecycling.com/batteries for a full list. We also pick up batteries with our Recycle More program – find details at naparecycling.com/recycle-more.
Thanks for your help in safely recycling batteries!

No Need to Water Your Yard YetSpring-like weather doesn’t mean Spring-like watering. With short days and chilly nights, your lawn knows it’s still winter. Keep those automatic irrigation systems off. Prioritize trees with a deep soaking if necessary.
Drought regulations remain in effect. Napans have hit our 20% water savings target since July 2021. Let’s keep up the good work!
