Community Recovery Bank Funding SurveyThe Napa City Council recently approved the allocation of the City’s $15.12 million in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding. Consistent with ARPA’s intent to replace public sector revenue loss and support economic stabilization following COVID-19, the City will primarily use the funding to address core infrastructure needs and support Council priorities on homelessness, economic recovery and workforce stability.
Additionally, the Council recognizes that COVID-19 negatively impacted community members and small businesses and has directed that ARPA funds also be made available to directly help those in need. A “Community Recovery Bank” has been established to support immediate economic stabilization for local households and businesses, with a total allocation to this bank of $1,150,000. The Community Recovery Bank was designed to include discretionary funds that could be guided more directly by local initiatives or organizations.
The City of Napa is seeking feedback from the public to help prioritize areas of community need. The Napa City Council will use this important data to guide decisions and discussions on how best to distribute these Community Recovery Bank funds.
Please take our survey no later than Friday, April 15th, to let us know your thoughts on how this funding would best support our community. This survey should take no longer than 1-3 minutes.
Please note: Selected projects or programs will be required to comply with ARPA eligibility rules and strict reporting requirements.
Here are the links to the survey:

Public Safety Radio and Communication Upgrade ProjectSponsored by Congressman Mike ThompsonCongressman Mike Thompson sponsored the City of Napa’s request for $1.8 million in Community Project Funding for the Public Safety Radio and Communication upgrade Project which was approved by Congress this spring. Last Thursday, Mayor Scott Sedgley, Chief Jennifer Gonzalez, and Assistant City Manager Liz Habkirk joined with representatives from across the county to meet with Congressman Thompson and accept the big check!
The funding is critical to accomplish needed upgrades to the radio equipment for all public safety agencies in the County helping them better respond and coordinate during natural disasters and response events. We appreciate the work of Congressman Thompson in securing this important funding for our communities!

REMINDER: Drought rules are still in effect. Sprinkler irrigation is limited to two days per week, but just one day per week is recommended through May. After some rain on Saturday, the weather will turn summer-like next week. Resist the temptation to blast those lawn sprinklers. It’s only spring – and we may see a little more rain at the end of March.
