City of Napa is Celebrating the BIG 1-5-0! This year, the City of Napa is celebrating the BIG 1-5-0! The City was officially incorporated on March 23,1872.
In honor of our special birthday, we're going to share some fun Napa facts every month! In the spirit of AAPI Month, we wanted to shine light on Napa's diverse history.
The land by the foot of the Napa River under First Street is a spot that hundreds of Chinese immigrants once called home in the mid-1800s! The bustling community of about 300 people lasted until 1902 when a fire enveloped the area. Now, China Point Overlook, which held its opening ceremony in 2017, pays homage to Napa's former Chinatown.

Save Water, Napa! As California continues to experience drought conditions, it's important to do what we can here in Napa to Save Water!
Don't know where to start? Consider adopting a few of these water conservation tips:
- Applying mulch to planted areas to retain moisture in the soil. - Running only full loads of laundry or dishes. - Turning off the water while you lather with soap, shave, or brush your teeth. - Using a broom instead of a hose to clean off patios, decks, sidewalks, and driveways.
For additional drought resources, visit https://www.cityofnapa.org/1018/Drought-Update
