Application Period Closes October 15, 2022: Community Recovery Bank FundingThe application period is now open for the City of Napa’s Community Recovery Bank and eligible organizations and businesses are invited to apply.
Earlier this year, the City of Napa City Council directed a total of $1,150,000 million of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to be made available as grants, via a Community Recovery Bank, to assist with community recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. The Community Recovery Bank program is designed to support organizations, programs, and activities that benefit City of Napa residents and small businesses.
Organizations eligible to apply include nonprofits that are corporations, associations, agencies, or faith-based organizations with a 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(6) nonprofit status under the Internal Revenue Service Code, as well as for-profit small businesses that meet additional eligibility requirements. All eligible applicants must serve City of Napa residents or businesses, provide proof of insurance, and be in good standing with the California Secretary of State and the California Attorney General’s Registry of Charitable Trusts, if required by law to be registered.
Available grants are available with a minimum of $5,000 and a maximum of $350,000 per organization.
Applicants may apply for funds from September 15, 2022, through October 15, 2022. Priority will be given to those applications which help support communities and populations most disproportionately impacted by the pandemic. Award recommendations will also be reflective the Community Survey results which demonstrated high public interest in community programs to support housing assistance, homelessness services, as well as aid to for programs that support our businesses and childcare programs.

Annual Fire & Life Safety Day Returns!Saturday, October 22, 2022 10 AM - 1 PM The Annual Fire and Life Safety Day Open House returns once again to Napa! Join the Napa Fire Department for this fun, educational event – in person!
Highlights of the event will include:
- Learn about fire safety and meet your fire department
- Tour the fire station and see what a day in the life of a firefighter is like
- See firefighters in action using the jaws of life
- Visit booths staffed by local health and safety service providers to learn how to keep your family healthy, safe, and prepared for emergencies
- Have your picture taken with firefighters, fire trucks, and Sparky
- Games, activities, and more!
Visitors can also participate in the FREE Halloween Costume Exchange by bringing a gently used costume to exchange for a “new to you” costume. No donations are required to participate and choose a costume. It’s an eek-o-friendly way to give back and “respook, rewear, rescare”!

Rail Arts District Napa Did you know that the Rail Arts District Napa (also known as RAD Napa) was founded in 2016?
RAD Napa was envisioned to be a free, outdoor contemporary art museum, and it definitely lives up to that description. The district starts in Napa’s Oxbow District and continues northward for 2 miles along the Napa Valley Vine Trail and the Napa Valley Wine Train tracks.
RAD Napa is a 501c3 nonprofit organization supported by the City of Napa, the arts community, and local businesses.

Reminder: Monthly Sandbag Operations Return to City Corp YardNext Self-Serve Sandbags - November 5, 2022While the weather is still gorgeous and not a drop of rain in sight, it's still a good time to start preparing for the rainy season now!
Free, self-serve sandbags are available to city residents at the City’s Corporation Yard at 770 Jackson Street on the first Saturday of each month from October through March, from 9 AM - 1 PM.
Be sure to bring gloves - sand and sandbags will be provided!
Sandbag operations will also open as needed at Memorial Stadium parking lot when the National Weather Service has declared a local Flood Watch.

A total of 7 openings are available:
2 to serve on the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Advisory Committee. This committee gives advisory to City Council on matters regarding the Community Development Block Grant program.
4 to serve on the Senior Advisory Commission, which makes recommendations to the City Council and the Parks and Recreation Services Director.
1 to serve on the Napa County Abatement District Board, which is the Governing Body of the Mosquito Abatement District.

Lane Closure: Solano Avenue from Mobile Lane to Salvador Avenue PG&E will have a South bound closure on Solano Ave from Mobile Lane to Salvador Ave. from 9 AM to 5 PM through mid-November.
Southbound traffic on Solano will be detoured on to Hwy. 29 at Oak Knoll and back onto Solano at Salvador. Northbound Solano will remain open at all times.
