Napa Dia de los Muertos

When: Saturday, November 5th, 3pm - 8pm
Where: Veterans Park, Dwight Murray Plaza and along Brown Street

Join us in celebrating Dia De Los Muertos or Day of The Dead in Downtown Napa!

The celebration will be Saturday, November 5th from 3pm - 8pm at Veterans Park, Dwight Murray Plaza and along Brown Street. Come honor this beautiful tradition as we remember our loved ones who have passed. There will be live music with Mariachi Tradicion Mexicana and Dr. Loco’s Rockin Jalapeno Band.  There will also be Community Altars, Kids Crafts, Folklorico Dancing, and amazing Art Exhibits. Napa Dia de los Muertos aims to create a family-friendly event where the Napa community joins together in art, tradition, music, dance, and food.

Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program

The City of Napa is conducting a comprehensive update of its Neighborhood Traffic Calming Program (NTCP), and we want to hear from you!

Napa's Water System Celebrates 100 Years!

Did you know that the City of Napa has owned and operated its own water system since 1922? This allows us to supply, treat and distribute our water!

The water system includes:

• Lake Hennessey, the major local water source located 13 miles North of the city.
• The Milliken Reservoir, located 5 miles NE of the City.  
• State Water Project, which imports surface water from California’s State Water Project (SWP).  The SWP diverts water from the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta and conveys it 21 miles via the North Bay Aqueduct to Solano and Napa counties.  
• 350 miles of water pipeline
• 3 treatment plants, 12 storage tanks (31 million gallons!), 10 pump stations and 11 regulator stations

Recycle More - FREE Curbside Pickup

Recycle More is a program through the City of Napa that offers FREE curbside pickup collects items for recycling in addition to what you can put in your recycling cart!

The Recycle More program accepts: 

• E-Waste
• bagged clothing and shoes
• batteries
• lightbulbs, appliances and much more! 

Please do not put any of these items in your blue recycling cart. Recycle More curbside pickups are by appointment only.

Do you want to make a difference in your community? Do you have expertise you could share? The City Clerk has announced new Board openings and is now accepting applications from Napa residents! 

A total of 7 openings are available: 

2 to serve on the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Advisory Committee. This committee gives advisory to City Council on matters regarding the Community Development Block Grant program.

4 to serve on the Senior Advisory Commission, which makes recommendations to the City Council and the Parks and Recreation Services Director.

1 to serve on the Napa County Abatement District Board, which is the Governing Body of the Mosquito Abatement District.

Reminder: Monthly Sandbag Operations Return to City Corp Yard

Next Self-Serve Sandbags - November 5, 2022

While the weather is still gorgeous and not a drop of rain in sight, it's still a good time to start preparing for the rainy season now!

Free, self-serve sandbags are available to city residents at the City’s Corporation Yard at 770 Jackson Street on the first Saturday of each month from October through March, from 9 AM - 1 PM. 

Be sure to bring gloves - sand and sandbags will be provided!

Sandbag operations will also open as needed at Memorial Stadium parking lot when the National Weather Service has declared a local Flood Watch.

Lane Closure: Solano Avenue from Mobile Lane to Salvador Avenue

PG&E will have a South bound closure on Solano Ave from Mobile Lane to Salvador Ave. from 9 AM to 5 PM through mid-November.

Southbound traffic on Solano will be detoured on to Hwy. 29 at Oak Knoll and back onto Solano at Salvador.
Northbound Solano will remain open at all times.
