Community Wide Yard Sale - September 8

Each year The City of Napa, Parks and Recreation Department, the Recycling Division, and Napa Recycling and Waste Services (NRWS) designates a date for families who want to participate and hold their own garage sales or yard sales. This year’s City-wide Community Yard Sale will be held at homes throughout Napa on Saturday, September 8, 2018 with many homes open on Sunday too.

Whether you’re a buyer, a seller or both, the Napa Citywide Community Yard Sale is a fun community event that brings neighbors together for a purpose and reduces Napa’s environmental impact.

Mark your calendars and save the date! Keep your eye on www.cityofnapa.org for a map of participating locations. You can also follow Napa Parks and Recreation on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for pictures of actual items available.

City Now Accepting Applications for General Plan Advisory Committee

The City of Napa is now accepting applications for the General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC). The City’s General Plan helps to guide decision-making by residents, property owners, business interests, and elected and appointed officials about public and private land use and development that shape Napa’s physical environment. Envision Napa 2020, the City’s current General Plan, was adopted in 1998.

To assist with the General Plan Update, the City is establishing an advisory committee comprised of 10 to 15 members from the general public. You can learn more about the scope of the Committee and fill out the online application at www.cityofnapa.org/GeneralPlan2040. Applications are due by 4:00 PM on Friday, September 7, 2018.

The City envisions that the group will include Napa residents, business owners, neighborhood groups, and other community stakeholders who have a broad interest in long-range planning issues facing Napa. The selection process will focus on identifying GPAC members who can bring broad, community-wide thinking to the GPAC process rather than represent specific interest groups. In the meantime, you can check out the new General Plan 2040 site here: www.napa2040.com.
