Upcoming Work and Road Closures Around Town


The City of Napa has quite a bit of work going on around town next week. Here is a round-up of the areas that you will want to plan ahead for. Please use caution and drive safely when traveling through the area, for your safety and for the safety of our crews!

Redwood Road
Monday, December 3, to Friday, December 7 
6:00 AM - 3:00 PM
 
Our concrete crew is going to be removing and replacing damaged sidewalk curbs and gutters. Crews are going to close the right hand, eastbound lane from Linda Vista Avenue to Carol Drive from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM starting Monday, December 3rd to Friday, December 7th.

Pueblo Avenue
Monday, December 4
8:30 AM - 4:00 PM

There will be a road closure on eastbound Pueblo Ave at Coolidge Drive on December 3rd for road repairs. The closure will begin at 8:30 AM and end at approximately 4:00 PM. Emergency vehicles will be able to pass through the area. All other east bound traffic will be detoured at Carriage Place.

Jefferson Street and Pueblo Avenue Intersection
Tuesday, December 4th
8:30 AM until completion

The City Electrical Department is planning on changing out the traffic signal control cabinet at the intersection of Jefferson/Pueblo on December 4th (weather permitting) Work will begin at 8:30 AM and the intersection will be a four-way stop until the signal is operational again.

Department of State Hospitals

Test of Emergency Air Horns on Wednesday, December 5


Napa State Hospital will test its two emergency air horns on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 3:30 p.m. The horns will be activated to warn hospital staff and tenants in the event of an armed intruder. The test will produce three sequences of audible horn blasts. Testing will last approx. 30 minutes. No action is required during this time.

Tuba Christmas

Tuba Christmas - New Location: First Presbyterian Church of Napa


The Tuba Christmas concert scheduled for tomorrow will be moved indoors due to the uncertainty of the weather. The concert will  take place from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM in the sanctuary at First Presbyterian Church of Napa. The historic church, located at 1333 3rd Street, was built in 1874 in the Neo-Gothic style and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. It will be a fantastic venue for the concert and a great way to get into the holiday spirit.

Hydrant Flushing

Annual Hydrant Flushing Program to Begin in January 2019


The City of Napa Water Division will begin annual Hydrant Flushing Program in January 2019.

This year’s program is expected to continue through April 2019 and will include Browns Valley, Alta Heights and downtown regions of the City of Napa water service area. Hydrant flushing is an important maintenance activity to clean and flush the City water mains. City Clerk Announces Commission and Committee Openings


Want to make a difference in your community? Do you have expertise you could share? The City Clerk is accepting applications from Napa Residents for a total of four openings; one to serve on the Parks, Recreation and Trees Advisory Commission, two to serve on the Planning Commission, and one to serve on the Napa Valley Transportation Active Transportation Advisory Committee. Please submit applications by 5:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018. See a full list of the openings and descriptions here

Napa Art Walk Voting for People's Choice

Voting Now Open for Napa Art Walk People's Choice


The City of Napa is excited to announce that polls are now open for People’s Choice Award for the current Napa Art Walk exhibition! The winning artist will be featured on next year’s Art Walk brochure and receive prizes donated from local businesses. 

Please vote HERE and share with your local networks. Please only one vote per person. Voting is accepted through May 2019. Your participation offers the curation team insight about how to best select artworks for this ever-growing program. 

The Napa Art Walk is a curated walking tour program that showcases regularly rotating installation art throughout downtown Napa, California. Since its inception in 2009, it is currently in its fifth exhibition of the biennial rotating public art program. The City is currently accepting submissions for the 2019-2021 collection. The full call for artists may be viewed at the Call For Entry website.
