City Boards, Commissions, and Committees generally include groups of dedicated citizens appointed to one of three types of bodies:
- Decision-making bodies
- Advisory bodies
- Decision-making or advisory bodies for another local or regional agency
Membership in City of Napa Boards, Commissions and Committees provides citizens with an opportunity to play a vital role in shaping our City's future and maintaining and improving its quality of life.
The organization of board membership varies. Some are comprised exclusively of citizens appointed by the City Council, others include a combination of citizens and elected officials, while others are comprised solely of elected officials.
The City maintains ten advisory bodies to the City Council. In addition, other opportunities exist on county or regional boards, many of which are required city representatives nominated by the City Council.
The City of Napa decision making bodies that are composed exclusively of elected officials include the City Council and the Napa Community Redevelopment Agency Board. The Housing Authority of the City of Napa Board of Commissioners (HACN) is the City Council in addition to two appointed tenant representatives.
The Council serves as the of the Napa Community Redevelopment Agency (NCRA) and for the Housing Authority of the City of Napa (HACN).
