Take the 2012 Community Climate survey

The City of Napa is conducting a Community Climate survey in advance of the City Council’s annual priorities and goal-setting retreat in mid-February. The web-based survey will provide a pulse-taking of community priorities and give the Council useful data on community satisfaction with quality of life and the delivery of City services. The survey uses primarily multiple choice and ranking questions and can be completed in a few minutes. All residents of the City of Napa are encouraged to complete the survey. Civil Service Commission employs new Personnel Director-Civil Service Manager

The City of Napa Civil Service Commission announces the hiring of Nicole Bilich as the new Personnel Director/Civil Service Manager. Her first day on the job will be February 13, 2012.

Downtown Specific Plan Draft EIR Published

The City of Napa has issued a Draft Environmental Impact Report (Draft EIR) for the Downtown Napa Specific Plan.  To view the Notice of Availability of Draft EIR, the Draft EIR, and the EIR Appendices, please visit www.downtownnapaspecificplan.org.  The 45-day public review comment period will conclude on Monday, March 12, 2012.

Nextdoor, the private social network for neighborhoods, continues to grow

The latest stats show 580 Napa residents are signed up with Nextdoor, with 41 new members joining during the week of January 16 alone. Eleven neighborhoods have officially launched and eight more are in the pilot phase. The Old Town and Browns Valley neighborhood networks have the largest number of participants, with 136 in each group.

Roving patrols set for Super Bowl Sunday

The Avoid the 9 Napa County DUI Campaign is reminding football fans watching this year’s Super Bowl game with friends and family to make the right decision before kickoff and game plan in a designated sober driver. The Avoid the 9 DUI Task Force will be deploying special roving DUI patrols on Sunday, February 5th in several communities throughout the area looking to stop and arrest drivers who are impaired by alcohol or drugs. These DUI patrols are, in addition to regularly scheduled patrol officers, all looking for the tale-tell signs of an intoxicated driver behind the wheel. Law Enforcement joins with the national “Fans Don’t Let Fans Drive Drunk” message from the National Football League (NFL), the California office of Traffic Safety (OTS), the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and Techniques for Effective Alcohol Management (TEAM) Coalition.
