Keeping Napa’s river and creeks clean and healthy

Keeping our local waterways healthy starts with realizing that any substance on our streets flows directly to our waterways without treatment. Wastewater that goes down the drain inside your house goes to the sanitary wastewater treatment plant, but things that go into the storm drains do not get treatment. That means if you fertilize your lawn and then over-water, allowing some of this water to get in the street, fertilizer enriched runoff enters the street’s storm drain and flow into the nearest creek or river.

Applications due by April 24 for Downtown Napa Specific Plan Steering Committee

UPDATED Thursday April 16, 2009

If you are interested in the future of Downtown Napa, the City of Napa wants you for a Downtown Plan Steering Committee to help with the development of the Plan over the next 18 months. Appilications must be received by April 24. The Committee will meet an estimated seven times on Wednesday evenings throughout the course of the Plan’s development.  The first meeting dates are June 17 and August 5, 2009.To see application information, click "Read more."

CourseCo Championship Qualifier to be held at Napa Golf Course June 6

CourseCo, the company that operates Napa Golf Course at Kennedy Park for the City of Napa, presents the First Annual CourseCo Championship Qualifier on Saturday, June 6. This will be a team scramble event, with the winning team going on to represent Napa in a two-day Championship event at Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman, Washington on July 11 and 12, 2009.  Napa's winning team will have the cost of hotel, tee prizes, golf, cart, and two meals per day as their prize for winning their qualification event. There will be a one time entry fee of $50.00 per player plus applicable green fee and cart fee at the local qualifier. This event is a NET competition. Sandbag pickup scheduled

The City of Napa Public Works Department will pick up sandbags on three Fridays in April - the 10th, 17th, and 24th.  Sandbags should be placed at the curb for the crews, who will start the pickup in the Downtown Business District.  For those citizens wishing to drop off their own sandbags, this can be done at the City of Napa Corporation Yard, 770 Jackson Street.  Please follow the directions posted on the Corporation Yard gate.
