2010: $100 Rebates Available! The clothes washer is typically the second largest water user inside the home, after toilets. While conventional washers use more than 40 gallons of water per load, new high-efficiency models use less than 18 gallons, saving more than 50% in water and energy costs. High-efficiency washers also require less detergent, are gentler on your clothes, and result in shorter drying times. The Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) has developed a set of high-efficiency specifications for residential clothes washers.
