The City Clerk is accepting applications for four seats on the Community Development Block Grant Citizens Committee and three seats on the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission.
The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Citizens’ Committee provides the assessment, planning, development, implementation, and amendment of programs under the CDBG Program of the Housing and Community Development Act. Additionally, the CDBG solicits citizen and City staff input regarding proposals and recommendations for the CDBG program and use of funds and make recommendations to City Staff and to the City Council for use of funds.
This Committee is appointed by Council and consists of seven members. Members must be full-time residents and registered voters of the City of Napa. The Committee meets on the last Monday of the month, on an as needed basis, with supplemental meetings during the Community Development Block Grant application process during the spring of each year.
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission advises the City Council on the acquisition, development and maintenance of parks within the City, as well as matters of public recreation and cultural activities in the City. One of seven commissioners must have a background in planning, implementation and maintenance of landscape in park facilities; one member must be a non-voting high school student member from the City of Napa.
The seven-member Commission meets on the second Wednesday of every other month at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
