UPDATED Thursday May 3, 2012 This week, the Coombs Street Bridge over Napa Creek will be permanently removed as Flood Project work on Napa Creek continues. This will eliminate the vehicle traffic connection from Coombs to Clinton-Brown Streets. Pedestrian access will remain using the new pedestrian bridge. At the same time, a new bus turn-around will go into use in the parking lot on the northeast side of the Coombs-Pearl intersection. Eight parking spaces will remain in this lot after restriping for the bus turn-around. Also, one lane of Coombs Street north of Pearl will be closed to allow work on a new retaining wall. This closure will continue for 6-7 months. Pedestrian access will be maintained. The Behrens Street Bridge over Napa Creek is set for permanent removal in June, and at that time there will also be a 30-day closure of the Seminary Street Bridge over Napa Creek. |
