Clerk announces Commission openings PDF Print Email

The City Clerk is accepting applications for four seats on the Bicycle & Trails Advisory Commission and four seats on the Parks & Recreation Advisory Commission. Deadline for submission of an application is 5:00 p.m. Friday, September 7, 2012.

The Bicycle & Trails Advisory Commission makes written recommendations to the Public Works Director and City Council regarding bicycle transportation and bicycle and recreational issues. One member will be appointed by the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission.
The Commission meets on the second Thursday of every even-numbered month at 4:00 p.m. in the Committee Room at City Hall.
Commission members must demonstrate specific qualifications based on either: experience or dedication as a bicyclist, or training or experience in the field of transportation or recreational trail planning or engineering. Selected applicants will serve two year terms beginning October 2012 through September 2014.

The Parks & Recreation Advisory Commission makes written recommendations to the City Council affecting the acquisition, development, and maintenance of parks; regarding matters of public recreation and cultural activities of public interest within the City; and affecting the development of privately and publicly landscaped areas within the City. The Commission meets on the second Wednesday of every other month at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Selected applicants will serve two year terms beginning October 2012 through September 2014.
