The extension of Saratoga Drive in southeast Napa is now underway. On Thursday, October 4, the temporary traffic signal that has been installed at Soscol and Sousa was activated, and on Friday October 5 the closure of Silverado Trail in both directions from the "Y" intersection at Soscol Avenue to Sousa Lane was instituted. Traffic will be detoured using Sousa Lane. The closure and detour will be in place during weekday work hours from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Businesses in this section of Silverado Trail will remain open and customers will be provided access during this project. Those businesses include the Olive Tree Restaurant and Napa Valley Wine and Cigar. Drivers wishing to avoid the detour are encouraged to use Third Street, First Street and Lincoln Avenue to connect between Silverado Trail and Soscol Avenue. The detour will remain in place for about four months.
