|Clerk announces board and committee openings|

The City Clerk is accepting applications from City of Napa Residents for a total of four board/committee openings; two to serve on the Disability Access Board of Appeals, and two to serve on the Napa County Transportation and Planning Agency’s Active Transportation Advisory Committee. Deadlines for submission of an application are: 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2013 (Napa County Transportation and Planning Agency’s Active Transportation Advisory Committee); and 5:00 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2013 (Disability Access Board of Appeals) respectively. The Disability Access Board of Appeals renders decisions when a person appeals a determination made by the Chief Building Official or Fire Code Official in administering or enforcing access to “public accommodations or facilities”. The board consists of five members; one appointment will be co-appointed to the Building and Fire Code Board of Appeals, and the other appointment shall be “physically handicapped persons” (as defined by California Health and Safety Code Section 19957.5). Interested applicants need to have understanding of the challenges that persons with disabilities face on a daily basis and methods used to mitigate these challenges.
Members of the Disability Access Board of Appeals will serve for a two year term. Meeting times and location will vary as meetings are called as needed.
The Napa County Transportation and Planning Agency’s Active Transportation Advisory Committee (ATAC) advises the NCTPA on the development of Active Transportation facilities, including bicycle and pedestrian facilities. The ATAC reviews and helps prioritize funding for such facilities. The Committee participates in the development and review of bicycle, pedestrian and active transportation plans.
The ATAC is composed of individuals with a keen interest in bicycle and pedestrian facilities and “active” modes of transportation. Membership is made up of representatives from each jurisdiction equal to the number of votes that jurisdiction has on the NCTPA Board. The Committee meets monthly, generally on the fourth Monday of each month at 5:00 at NCTPA offices. The term is three years.
