On Tuesday, January 29 at 6:00 p.m., a public workshop will be held to solicit input on potential changes to the traffic circulation pattern in the neighborhood between Jefferson Street and Highway 29 along First and Second Streets. Specifically, the City is interested in community input regarding ‘Alternative 2-R’, which would keep First and Second as one-way streets but reverse the direction of travel, making First Street one-way eastbound toward downtown and Second Street one-way westbound away from downtown. Along with considering this change of one-way direction, the City is also evaluating the addition of roundabouts at the intersections First Street/California Boulevard and Second Street/California Boulevard. The public meeting will provide an opportunity for City staff to describe how roundabouts work and to answer questions, and receive public input on the concept.

The meeting will be held in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 955 School Street.
