On Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. the Napa Police Department hosts a four hour LEAD (Licensee Education on Alcohol and Drugs) Training in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 955 School Street. Kathy Chavez from the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control will facilitate this free voluntary prevention and education program for retail licensees, their employees and applicants. Existing licensees, their employees, special events producers and the general public are welcome to attend. The class is informative and will include instruction on responsible beverage service, checking various forms of identification, detecting and preventing illegal activity, reducing liability and much more. Each person that completes the training will receive a card that they have suc-cessfully completed a LEAD training course. The benefits of LEAD training include reduced risk of liability, possible reduced insurance premiums, and education on ways to deal with difficult situations.
