UPDATED Monday November 10, 2014

This summer, the Napa City Council unanimously passed a single-use bag reduction ordinance that will be phased in, going into full effect on January 1, 2015. To help local businesspersons undertstand the ordinance details and its implementation, and to provide help in communicating with employees and customers, the City of Napa and Sustainable Napa County are hosting two "how-to"workshops. The first was held November 5. The second will be Wednesday, November 12, from 4:30pm to 5:30pm (follow this link to register.)  Information covered in the workshop will include: helpful tips for communicating with employees and customers about the ordinance; frequently asked questions and answers about the ordinance; a list of vendors who produce paper bags with the correct recyclable content as well as those who produce reusable bags; fun ideas for helping customers remember their reusable bags; and more. A Business Toolkit will also be available for download. All local businesses are welcome. The workshops will use a "train the trainer" format so one or two key representatives are encouraged to attend so they can take information back to employees and/or business owners.
