The division's responsibility is to plan, organize and direct the operation of its five sections. These sections are:

  • Street Maintenance (Signs/Sweeping)
  • Street Paving
  • Sidewalk Repair/Replacement
  • Street Lighting
  • Traffic Control
  • Electrical
  • Communications.


Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the construction, repair and maintenance of City roads, bridges and storm drainage facilities
  • Installation and repair of electrical systems traffic signal systems, street lights, signs and markings
  • Managing the design, acquisition, installation, operation, maintenance, repair and replacement of City-wide radio
  • Assisting in the development and control of the division budgets

 

Sidewalk Repair Program

The Sidewalk Repair Program was enacted by City Council in 1990 for expedient repair of frontage improvements damaged by street trees throughout the City.  The program allows property owners to replace street trees, sidewalk, curb, gutter, and driveway and receive a partial reimbursement from the City.  The program is funded yearly by the General Fund
