During the evening of Friday May 30, 2008, the Napa Police Department will conduct DUI Saturation Patrols in the city limits of Napa.  The saturation patrols will be in an area where the City of Napa has experienced a high number of collisions due to drivers under the influence and in areas where a high number of DUI arrests have been made.

In addition, The Napa Police Department will continue to aggressively enforce the state’s occupant protection laws as part of California’s 2008 Click It or Ticket mobilization, taking place through Sunday June 1.

"We will not accept excuses or give warnings.  It’s Click It or Ticket.” said Police Chief Rich Melton.

Tickets for first seat belt violations range from $80 to $91 for adults and $330 to $401 for children under age 16, depending on the county.

Funding for officer overtime for the DUI Saturation Patrols and to support California’s Click It or Ticket campaign was provided by grants from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
