Thursday September 4, 2008
On Saturday September 6, 2008, the City of Napa Police Department will conduct a DUI/Drivers License checkpoint somewhere in the city limits of Napa. The checkpoint will be in an area where the City of Napa has experienced a high number of collisions due to drivers under the influence.
The emphasis of the checkpoint will be to detect drunk drivers and those with suspended, revoked, or no driver license. An important goal of checkpoints is both to educate the public on the dangers of driving while intoxicated and convince them to not drink and drive in the first place.
This checkpoint is part of the City of Napa Police Department’s commitment to traffic safety by reducing the number of people killed and injured in alcohol-involved collisions.
