City of Napa Water Division General Manager Phil Brun received two honors at the conference of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) held in Reno, Nevada October 20-23.

Brun received the George A. Elliott Memorial Award, the highest award presented by the California-Nevada section of the AWWA. The award is given “for creativity and exceptional effort to improve member and public relations and outstanding innovation in the Public Works field.”

“Phil is very deserving of this Award,” said Public Works Director Mike O’Bryon. “The AWWA is the leading professional organization dedicated to ensuring that all of us have safe and sufficient drinkable water. Phil is very active within the AWWA organization, and he is quickly establishing himself as a recognized leader in this profession.”

The Chair’s Award for “commitment to be of service to the Section” was also given to Brun along with his installation as Chair Elect.

Brun joined the City of Napa Public Works Department as an Associate Civil Engineer in December of 1996 and became Water Division General Manager in December of 2002.
