After a year in preparation and a community workshop last August to discuss approaches, an 11 member broad- based Housing Committee has recommended a draft Housing Element for Planning Commission and City Council review.  A workshop to introduce the Draft Housing Element will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2009, beginning at 7pm, in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 955 School Street.

The Housing Element is the part of the City’s General Plan that focuses on housing needs and how to address them.  Strategies and programs in this updated Housing Element will guide the City’s housing development and conservation efforts over the next several years.

The public is invited to attend and hear what is being considered and provide comments.  Public hearings will follow after the State Department of Housing and Community Development has reviewed and commented on the Draft.   The Draft Element is available on the City’s website on the Housing Element Update page. Copies are also available for review at the City of Napa Community Services Building, 1600 First Street, Napa.
