Downtown Street Conversion project approaches completion

The Downtown Streets Conversion Project that began in mid-February is about to wrap up. Underground electrical work, streetscape improvements, traffic signal installation, and paving have been completed. Striping, signage and other details are being completed this week, and the switch from one-way to two-way traffic on First and Second streets is set for Wednesday, August 27. The portions of First and Second that will be changed are from Main Street on the east to Jefferson Street on the west.

Outreach for Five-Way Intersection Project

The City of Napa and Caltrans are partnering on a project study report to identify improvements to the intersection of Silverado Trail (SR 121)/Third Street/Coombsville Road/East Avenue, also known as the “Five-Way Intersection.” The study will evaluate existing conditions, forecast future traffic, and develop alternatives for a future improvement project. The construction timeline is yet to be determined. s currently anticipated in 2017-2018. Public meetings to get resident input are coming up. Workshop set for Kennedy Park Master Plan

Napa Parks and Recreation is embarking upon a Master Plan for John F. Kennedy Memorial Park. The purpose of the Plan is to develop a strategic planning tool that will provide clear direction and a vision for future planning and development of this large recreational amenity. A workshop to help devleop the Master Plan will be held on August 26 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Pelusi Building, 2296 Streblow Drive, in Kennedy Park. An online survey is also underway. Information on the Solano Square at Justin Siena project can be viewed by following this link. The documents available include the Project Plans and the Notice of Preparation of an Environmental Impact Report and Notice of Public Scoping Meeting. The Scoping Meeting will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 6:00pm in the Napa City Council Chambers, 955 School Street. At this meeting, public agencies, organizations, and members of the public will be able to review the proposed projects and provide comments on the scope of the environmental review process.
