The City of Napa is pleased to announce the selection of Julie Lucido as the new public works director, effective Monday, April 8, 2019.
Lucido brings over 15 years of experience in local government, including engineering and management. She returns to Napa after serving the City of Fairfield’s Public Works Department since 2016, first as the assistant director and then director. Prior to joining the City of Fairfield, Lucido spent much of her career here in Napa, both with the City and the County. Among Lucido’s many responsibilities were development engineering, sustainability programs, special projects, and most notably, the Napa River Flood Control Project at the Napa County Flood Control District.
“I look forward to returning to Napa to help drive the City’s efforts to improve and maintain our infrastructure, and work with staff to build on the many successes of the Public Works department to serve the community here,” said Lucido.
Lucido earned her Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from California State University, Chico. Along with her wealth of knowledge and vast experience, her familiarity with the Napa community is an asset that will help improve and advance the many initiatives of the Public Works Department.
“Julie’s extensive public works experience, as well as her leadership skills and ability to build community with our staff as well as our residents, will be invaluable,” said City Manager Steve Potter. “I look forward to working with her to continue our progress.”
