[ARCHIVED] City of Napa Annual Hydrant Flushing Program continues

Hydrant Flushing water spraying from hydrant

In December 2017, we will begin opening up hydrants to clean and flush the city's water mains as part of the City of Napa's Annual Hydrant Flushing Program.

Why? To maintain the highest quality of water in the public water system.

The flushing program may cause periods of discolored water and reduced water pressure in localized areas. The water will remain safe to use and usually clears within a few hours. But, residents should monitor their water prior to starting laundry, especially when washing white clothes.

Water service won't be disrupted, but water pressure might drop and that could activate low-pressure alarms on automatic fire sprinkler systems.  That's especially important to know for commercial customers.

So, when will it take place in your neighborhood? Check out the Water page see what areas are being flushed that day and what area is next.

We thank you for your patience in this project that helps us deliver the best service we can. Any questions, don't hesitate to call the City of Napa Water Division at (707) 257‑9521.
