The County of Napa currently remains at zero confirmed cases of COVID- 19 even though the COVID-19 situation has affected our nation, state and community.
“Health and safety of our community and employees is of utmost importance to all of us,” says Steve Potter, City Manager. “The responsibility to keep our community safe is taken very seriously by City staff.”
In an abundance of caution and in light of the State’s recent direction (asking bars, brewpubs, nightclubs and wineries to close, as well as asking those over 65 to self-isolate), the City Manager’s Office is working to develop a path forward to respond to the evolving nature of COVID-19. In order to help local small business access funds available from the Small Business Association, as well as other resources, and to provide greater authority to quickly respond to the changing nature of this situation, the City Manager has to declared a local emergency.

staff can address the public regarding COVID-19 and to ratify the local emergency declaration. Combined, these efforts will help to address needs associated with protecting the health and safety of our community and employees, access much-needed resources to support our small businesses and respond to the rapidly changing economics due to COVID-19.
The City is actively working with the County of Napa’s Emergency Operations Center and Joint Information Center to coordinate resources and messaging to our employees and the community. Be Prepared
Right now, the risk of infection appears to be moderate in Napa County. We recommend that
people start taking some basic steps to get prepared:

• Step up your hygiene game. Hand washing, covering coughs with your elbow or a tissue, and staying home when sick are the most important things you can do to protect yourself and others.
• Try to keep a 30-day supply of essential medicines.
• Get a flu shot if you haven’t already. The flu is still circulating and the symptoms are
similar to COVID-19.
• If possible, have extra of essential household items (e.g. diapers for small children,
laundry detergent) and food staples on hand.
• Have a support system in place for elderly family members.
