[ARCHIVED] Join Napa Police Department at National Night Out on Tuesday, August 3rd

National Night Out

The Napa Police Department (NPD) are partnering up with a number of other public safety agencies to host 2021’s National Night Out, an annual family-friendly festival and celebration that will take place on Tuesday, August 3 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Lincoln Ave. Walmart parking lot (681 Lincoln Ave, Napa).

National Night Out is an annual crime prevention event and community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live.

“The Napa Police Department is excited to host yet another National Night Out for our entire community to get outside and unite with each other,” said the department’s Interim Police Chief Sylvia Moir. “After more than a year of living and connecting virtually, the NPD is thrilled to be able to connect with residents in-person and continue to promote community safety.”

On top of food, ice cream, beverages, fun activities and safety demonstrations, the Napa Police Department will have a patrol car, motorcycle, SWAT vehicle and command trailer set up for families to explore. The carnival-style event will also have fun and educational information booths set up by the California Highway Patrol, the Napa County Sheriff’s Office, the Napa County Probation Department, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, the Salvation Army, Napa County Health and Human Services, the Napa Bicycle Coalition, Napa Valley College Police, CalFire and more.

National Night Out helps enhance the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement in Napa while bringing a sense of community to the City. Further, it provides a great opportunity for residents to interact with police officers and other public safety officers in a positive circumstance.

Thousands of cities across the nation come together to participate in National Night Out on the first Tuesday of August each year. Last year, more than 37.8 million people and 16,124 communities across America, Canada and military bases participated to encourage community-police partnerships and crime prevention.
