[ARCHIVED] Earth Day Napa Celebration in Oxbow Commons Sunday, April 24th

Earth Day

It’s a VERY belated 50th Earth Day anniversary celebration after the Environmental Education Coalition of Napa County (EECNC) had to cancel its celebration in 2020 due to COVID-19 — but they’re making up for lost time.

Come join for a day of fun for all ages from 11am to 4pm on April 24th at the Oxbow Commons. More than 75 exhibitors and vendors will be hosting booths with hands-on displays, games, crafts, and cool things to purchase. Plus three bands: Jaleh (of Royal Jelly Jive), Peter Harper, and Obsidian Son were generously booked by BottleRock Napa Valley, with multiple local performances and inspirational speakers between sets.

Earth Day is free to attend but attendees are encouraged to purchase the delicious food, wine, and beer offered by local vendors. All proceeds from Sponsor donations, kombucha, beer, and wine sales support EECNC’s Field Trip Bus Grants and the Darcy Aston Environmental Advocacy Scholarship, awarded by EECNC to local graduating high school seniors pursuing a career in environmental sciences. The bus grants provide Napa County teachers with vital funding to visit sites such as Connolly Ranch, Bothe State Park, and the Napa River Ecological Reserve where students gain appreciation for our local environment.

One beverage that will not be available for sale is bottled water. Attendees are urged to bring their own reusable bottle for the “Water Bar” filling station or purchase one of the many drinks for sale at the event.  Napa Green Certified Wine, Tannery Bend Beer Works, Napa Palisades, Mare Island Brewing, Hop Creek, Marin Kombucha, and Revive Kombucha will be available for only $6.  Let’s drink for a cause, Napa!

EECNC will also have art at Earth Day Napa!  Local artists will be displaying works in oils, acrylics, watercolor, ink, and more.  There is also a juried competition and a People's Choice award that everyone can participate in and much of the art will be for sale.  Plus chalk art, with attendees encouraged to join in on the fun.

Attendees can also check out Drive Electric Earth Day with displays of the newest electric vehicles, an electric tractor, and NVTA’s new electric bus.

And please, in the spirt of Earth Day, ride your bike and enjoy FREE bike valet provided by the Napa County Bicycle Coalition. Dogs are welcome at Earth Day Napa but must be leashed.

Napa’s annual Earth Day Celebration would not be possible without the generous support of its sponsors. Special thanks go out to Sustaining Sponsors – BottleRock Napa Valley, Napa Green Certified Wine, and the City of Napa.  For a complete list of sponsors, exhibitors, vendors, and entertainment, please check the festival web site at EarthDayNapa.com.
