Congratulations go out to winners of the 2023 Napa County Water Conservation Video Contest! Lydia Zhou of American Canyon High School took the top prize of $1,500. Her clever animation captured this year’s theme, Planning for those not-so-rainy days. Her 30-second video “Save Water Me-Now” shows the best ways to save water outdoors. It can be seen up on the big screen as part of the pre-show program for all films at the Century Napa Valley Theatre Friday, June 30 through Thursday, July 6.
Congratulations also go out to this year’s 2nd place winners, the team of Sophie Stone and Anika Ewig from Vintage High School. Their video “Water Conservation 101” garnered them $1,000. The 3rd place prize of $500 went to American Canyon High’s Giselle Hinahon for her “Water You Waiting For?” This eighth annual video contest was opened up to all 9th–12th graders and received 67 entries. Contest sponsors include the Cities of Napa, American Canyon, St. Helena, and Calistoga, the Town of Yountville, Napa San, Napa County, and the Napa County Resource Conservation District.
