Did you know? The City of Napa is a Tree City USA!
To maintain this status, the City celebrates Arbor Day by planting trees in the community. This year's 29th annual Arbor Day celebration will be held at Kennedy Park on Saturday, September 22, 2018 from 9 AM to 12 PM. The event will take place on National Public Lands Day, a nationwide event where people can volunteer their time to restore public lands. The focus will be to plant trees in areas that experience heavy recreational use, have had trees removed and there is need for additional shade. Tree types that are better suited to the Napa climate will be planted that day. We will be planting over 160 new trees in the park and are encouraging volunteers of all ages to come out and help us celebrate by planting a tree. Volunteers will also help spread mulch and refresh paint throughout the park, including the rails at the Skate Park. Sponsors will have fun giveaways for volunteers, and lunch will be served - along with musical entertainment when the work is done! Napa County's Resource Conservation District, along with other agencies, will be on hand to provide information about their programs as well.
