Welcome to the GPAC Quick Hits Newsletter!

This newsletter is intended to provide the General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) periodic updates on the General Plan Update process, upcoming meetings, and activities. It is also a way for GPAC Members and Planning Staff to share articles and ideas on topics of interest and trends related to community planning.

Next GPAC Meeting 

The next GPAC Meeting has been scheduled for Monday, February 24, 2020. The agenda will include discussions on the Focus Area Urban Design Strategies, the draft Land Use Plan, and upcoming outreach and workshop approaches. The agenda packet will be distributed via email and available online February 19.

Housing Element Progress Report

Planning Staff has completed the Housing Element Annual Progress Report (APR) for 2019. As required by State law, the APR must be submitted to City Council and filed with the Office of Planning & Research and the Department of Housing & Community Development by April 1 of each year.

The APR will be reviewed by the Planning Commission at their February 20 meeting (agenda) and the City Council at their March 17 meeting.

ADU Center Opening Soon!

Job Opportunity - Center Director

The Napa Sonoma ADU Center (ADU "One-Stop Shop) is opening soon and is searching for a ADU Center Director! This position offers the chance to develop the Center from the ground up, developing a range of nonprofit, government, and private sector partnerships to increase the number of ADUs built in the North Bay!

General Plan Update - Behind The Scenes

Cities of Opportunity

With the departure of Napa's Economic Development Manager Robin Schabes, Planning Staff will be taking a key role in Napa's participation in the Cities of Opportunity (CoO) Initiative. With a focus on Health in All Policies, the CoO Initiative will intersect with our work on the General Plan Update at timely intervals throughout the process. The CoO "Core Team" includes Mike Walker, Senior Planner; Stephanie Cajina, Senior ED Project Manager; and Stephanie Gaul, Assistant Housing Manager.
