Revised CDD Work Schedules & Processes

The City of Napa Community Development Department’s Planning and Building Divisions will be open Tuesday and Thursday from 9AM to 3PM by appointment only for limited services to include permit and plan applications/resubmittals. Inspection for projects currently under construction will continue by appointment Monday through Friday.
The Community Development Department’s Economic Development Division, Parking Division and Housing Division will be closed to regular public interactions Monday through Friday. While City offices are closed, City staff will be teleworking from home to provide development review services to allow residential and commercial construction projects to advance, to move planning permits forward, assist Section 8 participants, and to provide general information to our community.
Members of the public may request an appointment using the phone numbers listed below. The City continues to receive and respond to correspondence via email or U.S. mail. To summarize, the following hours will apply:
Tuesday and Thursday from 9AM-3PM: By-appointment only public counter availability for Building or Planning applications/resubmittals. Building Inspections will continue to be scheduled following normal phone-in procedures.
Monday, Wednesday and Friday: The Planning and Buildings Divisions are not available for any in-person meetings, but personnel are available by phone/email. Building Inspections will continue to be scheduled following normal phone-in procedures.
It is important to understand that during this modified work period, our response times may be delayed. We will be adjusting as best we can and ask for your patience while we both evaluate your application and appropriately respond to this unprecedented emergency. Our primary focus is on the health and safety of our community and our workforce., This includes providing staff all opportunities to remain isolated and safe in compliance with the Governor’s “Shelter in Place” order.

For resubmittals and new projects, we will request all items electronically to facilitate distribution to all reviewers in a timely manner; we will be accepting hard copies of materials by appointment during the hours identified above.

The Housing Division may be reached at 707-257-9543 or by email. Client materials can continue to be mailed, e-mailed, or dropped in the 24-hour drop box on the front door of the Housing office (located at 1115 Seminary Street).
