GPAC Quick Hits Newsletter

This newsletter is intended to provide the General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC) periodic updates on the General Plan Update process, upcoming meetings, and activities. It is also a way for GPAC Members and Planning Staff to share articles and ideas on topics of interest and trends related to community planning.

Land Use Survey

Available Next Week!

The Consultant Team is putting the finishing touches on the English and Spanish presentation videos to accompany the Land Use and Focus Areas survey. Once completed, the surveys will be available on the project website and distributed to the public through our notification lists and the City's social media platforms.

Today's pandemic slows Napa's planning for the next 20 years

General Plan Update - Behind The Scenes

Local Early Action Planning Grant (LEAP)

Planning Staff is preparing a report to City Council requesting authorization to apply for a grant through the Department of Housing and Community Development. If awarded, the City is eligible for $300,000 in funding for adoption of ordinances and/or process improvements which accelerate housing production. Applications are due July 1, 2020. Look for the report on a June City Council meeting agenda!


Climate Element Draft

City Staff is reviewing a Climate Element draft submitted by members of our community along with GPAC Members John Glaser and Chuck Shinnamon! More information to come!

Shelter-In-Place Extended 

Napa County Public Health has extended the Shelter-In-Place orders through April 30, 2020. The City of Napa will be making an announcement on City protocols in the coming days. Stay up to date on the City's Alerts page on the City website and County Health's COVID-19 information page.

City Offices Closed - Staff Still At Work

All public counters in Napa City offices are closed to the public, and open only on a by-appointment basis. By modifying services, using social distancing and offering assistance and service over the phone, we can do our part to minimize COVID-19 exposure to City staff and the public. You can continue to communicate with Planning Staff by calling 707-257-9530 to schedule a phone appointment.
